Kate Hackett, ACE is a documentary and narrative film editor living in Los Angeles. Her most recent work is RAFA, a four part documentary series about Rafael Nadal for Netflix / Skydance. Recent work also includes MONSTERS OF GOD, a documentary series about reptile trafficking, directed by Eric Goode, produced by Jeremy McBride, and EP’d by Josh Safdie. MONSTERS won the TV Premieres award at SXSW.
She is an Emmy recipient and ACE Eddie Award winner for her editing work on the Netflix documentary series Cheer. She also worked as an editor on seasons four and five of the Emmy winning Netflix documentary series Last Chance U, and on the Netflix documentary series D.B. Cooper, Where Are You?! for director Marina Zenovich.
Other feature films she has edited include Cristina Costantini’s Emmy nominated documentary SALLY (Sundance), Amy Adrion’s documentary Half The Picture (Sundance, SXSW), A24’s Open Wide, directed by Sarah Goldblatt (Netflix), and Christopher Kahunahana’s Sundance Institute supported narrative film Waikiki.
She was the 2018 Sundance Institute Sally Menke Editing Fellow.
She is a member of the Motion Picture Editor’s Guild, IATSE Local 700, and is fluent in Spanish.
